Blossom needs your support
With 40% of children now suffering from allergies, there is a real need for education in order that these children and their families can be supported through the difficulty of living with the symptoms of allergy.
Already supporting medical experts and allergy sufferers throughout the country with its expertise in allergy information, Allergy UK has now brought its experience to the world of childhood allergy.
- With nearly 19,000 enquiries in the space of a year, the Allergy UK Helpline shows how allergy sufferers value this confidential support. Your support enables Blossom to extend that lifeline to those children living with allergy symptoms that affect everyday life.
- The route to diagnosis and treatment can be a worrying time for those who are struggling to cope with allergy symptoms that affect everyday life. Your support allows Blossom to provide materials to educate children and parents on the path to diagnosis and treatment of childhood allergy.
- Children continue to be excluded from the activities of their friends, and miss out on the opportunities for learning and experiencing social activities because of their symptoms, and the care they need. Your support allows Blossom to educate childcare organisations and schools on how they can provide an environment where childhood allergy sufferers can thrive, and participate in as many activities as possible.
- At present there are very few trained allergists in the UK and sufferers can find it difficult to access the care and services that they so desperately need. Your support enables Blossom to continue actively campaigning for increased training posts to be made available.
- For most children with allergy the General Practitioner is the first person that parents turn to for diagnosis and treatment. Unfortunately there has been a lack of Government investment in training on allergy for Primary Care healthcare professionals. Your support allows Blossom to educate healthcare professionals through materials and training courses, and actively help educate those who will be able to provide the service where it is most needed.
- Many children and families suffer with undiagnosed symptoms which are difficult to treat and control. With your support Blossom reaches out to childhood sufferers of allergy, intolerance and chemical sensitivity, and their families.
If you would like to help us you can do so in a number of ways:
- Become a friend of Allergy UK
- Make a donation to support our work
- Organise a fundraising event or sponsored activity
